Who can take part

  • You have moderate to severe ARDS (a serious breathing condition) and your doctor thinks you need a muscle relaxant to help with breathing.
  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You are willing to sign a form saying you agree to join the study.
  • You are not allergic to the muscle relaxant drugs used in this study.
  • You do not have any open wounds on your chest or belly, or any lung tumors or transplants.
