Who can take part

  • You are 50 to 70 years old
  • You have severe aortic stenosis (a narrowed heart valve) that causes symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, or fainting
  • Your aortic valve opening (annulus) is small, usually less than 23 mm on a CT scan
  • You are planning to get a biological (tissue) valve replacement, not a mechanical one
  • Your surgical risk is low (STS score 8% or less)
