This study looks for children and teens who are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes to understand what factors lead to it. If your child is overweight, has slightly high blood sugar, and is in early to mid-puberty, they may be able to join.

Who can take part
- Your child must be overweight or obese (BMI at or above the 85th percentile for their age and sex).
- Girls must be 8 to 13 years old, boys 9 to 15 years old (girls start puberty earlier).
- Your child must be in early to mid-puberty (Tanner stage 2, 3, or 4).
- Your child must have a slightly elevated blood sugar level (HbA1c between 5.5% and 6.4%), but not diabetes.
- Your child has not taken any diabetes or weight loss medications (including GLP-1s, metformin, or insulin) in the last 6 weeks.
