Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • Your heart pumps at least 40% blood out with each beat (ejection fraction ≥40%)
  • Your usual oxygen level (without extra oxygen) is at least 95%
  • You are not allergic to the medicines dexmedetomidine or ropivacaine
  • You don't rely on strong painkillers (opioids) every day
