Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 (or 18 or older if not obese)
  • You are scheduled for laparoscopic surgery (weight loss surgery if obese, or other laparoscopy if not)
  • Your BMI is between 18.5 and 30 (non-obese) or above 35 (obese)
  • You are not allergic to acetaminophen (Tylenol)
  • You do not have serious liver or kidney disease
