Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a blockage in the lower part of the bile duct caused by cancer.
  • An imaging test (like an ultrasound, CT, MRI, or endoscopic ultrasound) showed your common bile duct is wider than 15 mm.
  • You have had a difficult bile duct cannulation (placing a tube during an endoscopy) as defined by medical guidelines.
  • You are able to attend follow-up phone calls and provide written consent.
  • You do not have bleeding disorders, are not taking blood thinners that can't be stopped, and are not pregnant.

Comparing two ways to drain a blocked bile duct in borderline cancer
