Who can take part
- You are 19 years old or older
- You have been diagnosed with malignant (cancerous) distal bile duct obstruction that cannot be surgically removed
- You have already had a percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) tube placed—a temporary external drainage tube for your bile duct
- You are scheduled to have a metallic stent placed through your existing PTBD tube
- You have never had a biliary metallic stent placed before
- Your bile duct blockage is in the lower part of the bile duct, not higher up near the liver
