Esthetic space maintainers for children's baby molars

Who can take part

  • Your child needs to have both lower first baby molars taken out (or already out within 6 months).
  • The teeth next to the empty space must be healthy and not need a filling or crown.
  • Your child’s bite should be normal (no crossbite, open bite, or deep bite).
  • Your child should not have a history of grinding or clenching teeth.
  • X-rays must show the permanent tooth underneath is there and has at least 1 mm of bone above it.
