Who can take part

  • Your child is between 4 and 6 years old.
  • Your child needs a lower first baby molar pulled because of a cavity, root problem, or failed nerve treatment.
  • The permanent tooth under it has grown about one-third to two-thirds of its root.
  • There is not enough space for the permanent tooth, so a space maintainer is needed.
  • Your child is cooperative with dental treatment and can communicate clearly.
  • The second baby molar and baby canine on the same side are healthy or have fillings that will last the entire study.
