  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are having part or all of your esophagus removed
  • Your surgery will involve 2 or 3 small cuts in the chest (thoracoscopy) or one larger cut (thoracotomy)
  • You will not have open belly surgery (laparotomy)
  • You are able to give consent
