Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
- You have a foot ulcer that is at least 4 weeks old but not more than 1 year old.
- The ulcer is at least half the size of a half dollar but no bigger than a credit card (after cleaning).
- The ulcer is on your foot, mostly below the ankle, and not so deep that tendon or bone is showing.
- The blood flow to your foot is good enough to heal (checked by a doctor).
- You are willing to wear a special shoe or boot to take pressure off the ulcer and come to weekly study visits.
