Who can take part

  • You are having a heart attack with a specific pattern on the ECG (called ST-elevation).
  • Your heart attack symptoms started less than 12 hours ago.
  • You do not have a metal implant or other reason that prevents you from having an MRI scan.
  • You are not in cardiogenic shock (a severe form of heart failure).
  • You do not have a serious heart block or a pacemaker-dependent condition.
  • You do not have an active infection or are currently receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
