Who can take part

  • You have a type of head and neck cancer (called squamous cell carcinoma) that was confirmed by a biopsy.
  • You had surgery to remove all of the visible cancer, but your doctor found certain risk factors that suggest you might benefit from radiation.
  • You plan to start radiation between 6 weeks and 16 weeks after your surgery.
  • You are 18 years or older and healthy enough to be up and active (ECOG 0 or 1).
  • You have not had radiation to the head or neck before, and the cancer has not spread to distant parts of your body.
