Who can take part

  • You are scheduled to receive a lung transplant.
  • You can give your own permission to be in the study.
  • This is your first lung transplant (not a retransplant).
  • You are not receiving a transplant for more than one organ (like heart and lung together).
  • You are able to take standard blood-thinning medication (heparin).
  • You do not have severe lung blood pressure (pulmonary hypertension) or heart problems that would require ECMO support during surgery.
