Who can take part
- Your tumor must be a specific type of colorectal cancer: left-sided, with no changes in the RAS and BRAF genes, and with a marker called MSS or pMMR.
- The cancer must be advanced (metastatic) and not removable by surgery at the time of first treatment.
- You must be 18 years or older and in generally good health (able to care for yourself and up and about).
- You cannot have had certain previous treatments: no palliative chemotherapy for advanced cancer, and no platinum-based adjuvant chemotherapy within the last 12 months.
- Your blood counts and liver and kidney function must be within acceptable levels.
- You must not have serious complications from the main tumor, like blockage or perforation of the bowel.
