Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Stage III periodontitis (a moderate to severe gum infection).
  • You are a non-smoker or a former smoker who quit at least 1 year ago.
  • You have not had any gum treatment (like deep cleaning) in the last 3 months.
  • Gum disease does not involve the area where tooth roots divide (called furcation).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form to participate.
