Who can take part
- You are scheduled for heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine (such as bypass, valve surgery, or aortic surgery).
- You must have certain risk factors that make acute kidney injury more likely (your doctor will check which ones apply to you).
- Your kidney function must not be severely reduced (eGFR must be 20 or higher).
