Who can take part

  • You are between 19 and 90 years old.
  • You have a problem with your aorta (the main artery) and are having planned heart surgery that stops your heart and blood flow for a short time.
  • You have moderate kidney problems, as determined by your doctor.
  • Your surgery is not an emergency, and you are not on dialysis or have recent kidney injury.
  • You are willing to follow the study schedule and sign a consent form.
