Who can take part

  • You had an ischemic stroke (blocked artery in the brain) at least 6 months ago.
  • You scored 26 out of 30 on a memory and thinking test (MoCA).
  • You can follow simple verbal instructions.
  • You have normal sympathetic nervous system activity (not in a 'fight or flight' state).
  • You have no history of surgery on the vagus nerve, no very low heart rate (under 60 bpm), no major vision or hearing problems, and no other serious health issues.
  • You have not had orthopedic surgery or botulinum toxin (Botox) injections recently.
