Who can take part

  • This is your first stroke (either from a clot or bleeding in the brain).
  • Your stroke happened within the last month.
  • You have arm or hand weakness from the stroke (score up to 62 on a hand movement test).
  • You do not have a slow heart rate (below 60 beats per minute).
  • You do not have serious heart, lung, liver, or kidney disease.
