Who can take part

  • Your child is under 10 years old and weighs less than 35 kg.
  • Your child is on a breathing machine (ventilator) for breathing problems.
  • Your child can be enrolled within 24 hours of starting the breathing machine.
  • Your child is expected to need the breathing machine for more than 48 hours.
  • Your child was not born prematurely (at least 37 weeks).
  • Your child does not have any of the following: kidney disease, heart defects, liver failure, heart failure, or high blood pressure in the lungs.
