Who can take part

  • You have mitral regurgitation (a leaky mitral valve in the heart).
  • Your leak is moderate to severe as shown on an ultrasound.
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You do not have permanent atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat).
  • You have not had any previous heart surgery.
  • You do not have significant coronary artery disease or other severe valve disease.
