Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 85 years old
- You have mild, moderate, or severe mitral regurgitation (a leaky heart valve) diagnosed by ultrasound
- You can have an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) and an MRI within 7 days, and again 6 months later
- You do not have other major valve problems (like aortic valve disease or certain heart muscle conditions)
- You do not have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or any other reason you cannot have an MRI
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
