Who can take part
- You must have a confirmed diagnosis of classic familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP).
- You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
- You must not have had your entire colon removed (no total colectomy).
- You must have more than 10 adenomatous polyps in your colon or rectum.
- You must have normal liver and kidney function and be willing to take vitamin B1 and attend follow-up appointments.
- You cannot have taken certain medications that affect polyps or vitamin B1 (like aspirin, NSAIDs, or certain antibiotics) for more than a week in the past 3 months.
- You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
