  • You are scheduled to have LVAD surgery through a standard incision in your chest.
  • Your heart failure is at a moderate or severe level (INTERMACS profile 2 or higher).
  • You are willing and able to give written permission to join the study.
  • You are willing to attend all required follow-up visits after the procedure.

A study of CardioMEMS and HeartMate 3 for advanced heart failure

This trial tests if a combination of a tiny lung-artery pressure sensor (CardioMEMS) and a mechanical heart pump (HeartMate 3) is safe and effective for people with advanced heart failure. If you qualify, you'll either get the heart pump plus standard medical therapy, or continue with standard therapy alone and have your pressure monitored remotely.
