New drug to reduce protein in urine for diabetic kidney disease

This study tests a new drug called LC-Z300-01 to see if it can reduce protein in the urine of people with type 2 diabetes and diabetic kidney disease. Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You have type 2 diabetes and diabetic kidney disease (confirmed by a kidney biopsy or lab tests).
  • Your blood sugar control (A1c) is 9% or less at the start of the study.
  • You have protein in your urine—either a certain amount in two tests within 3 months or a 24-hour urine collection shows more than 300 mg of protein.
  • Your kidney function (eGFR) is at least 60 mL/min.
  • You are already on a stable dose of blood pressure/kidney medications (ACE inhibitor or ARB) for at least 4 weeks, or you can't take them due to side effects.
