Who can take part
- You are 18 or older with type 2 diabetes and your blood sugar is fairly well controlled (A1c below 10.5%).
- Your blood pressure is stable, and you are on the right dose of blood pressure medicines that protect your kidneys.
- A urine test shows a certain level of protein (UACR between 30 and 5000 mg/g) on two separate checks.
- Your kidney function (eGFR) is above 30 (a measure of how well your kidneys filter waste).
- You have either a larger waist size or high fasting triglycerides.
- If you could become pregnant or get a partner pregnant, you must use effective birth control during the study and for 90 days after.
