Who can take part

  • You have been newly diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer (cancer in the back of your nose/throat) and haven't had any treatment yet.
  • Your cancer is at an early to moderately advanced stage (Stage I to IVa) and has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • You are Han Chinese, right-handed, and between 18 and 60 years old with at least a junior high school education.
  • You have no history of head injury, mental illness, or other serious health problems like diabetes or high blood pressure.
  • A pre-treatment MRI shows no abnormal spots in the hippocampus (a key memory area of the brain).
