Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have been diagnosed with septic shock within the last 12 hours, needing medication to maintain blood pressure, high lactic acid levels, and a confirmed or suspected infection
  • You have been in the intensive care unit (ICU) for less than 48 hours
  • You are not on kidney dialysis or have a decision already made to start it
  • You do not have active bleeding causing unstable blood pressure
