Who can take part

  • You are between 25 and 80 years old.
  • You can read at a 6th grade level or higher.
  • You are willing to have an MRI and either a lumbar puncture (spinal tap) or a series of PET scans.
  • If you are 45 to 80, you have a study partner (a friend or family member) who can also read at a 6th grade level and will participate with you.
  • You do not have a serious or unstable neurological or psychiatric condition, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, or uncontrolled depression/anxiety.
  • You have not had a history of alcohol or drug abuse in the last 2 years, and do not have a recent cancer (past 5 years) except for certain skin cancers.
