Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes
  • You are between 8 and 65 years old
  • You have at least one diabetes-related antibody in your blood, or your fasting C-peptide level is 300 pmol/L or below
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and follow the study rules
  • You must not have uncontrolled diabetic ketoacidosis, known cancer, severe allergies, or certain other serious health problems
