  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You are currently in the intensive care unit
  • You have a breathing tube (invasive mechanical ventilation) and need a heated humidifier for a longer time or for protective ventilation with faster breaths
  • You are not expected to have the breathing tube removed within the next 24 hours
  • You are not in the SAVE-ICU study using a special gas-delivery system called AnaConDa
