Sirolimus for hard-to-treat focal epilepsy
Treatments studied
Part of Brain & nervous system clinical trials.
This trial tests if the drug sirolimus can help people with focal seizures (starting in one part of the brain) that don't improve with at least two other medications. It aims to reduce seizure frequency in adults aged 18 to 60.

This study tests a non-invasive focused ultrasound treatment for people with epilepsy that doesn't respond to medications. The goal is to see if this gentle ultrasound can reduce seizures without surgery.
This study tests whether the medicine everolimus (taken as a pill) can safely reduce seizures in adults with focal epilepsy that hasn't been controlled by other treatments. You would continue your current seizure medicines and add everolimus.
This Phase 2 study tests whether sirolimus (a targeted medicine) can stop or slow the start of seizures in very young babies diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). If seizures are prevented early, it may also help protect early brain development.
This Phase 3 study tests whether sirolimus helps control complex vascular anomalies that have not responded to standard treatments. It also checks safety by monitoring blood tests, organ function, and overall health during treatment.
This trial tests if sirolimus can help people with Leigh syndrome. It aims to see if the drug can improve neurological symptoms and is looking for participants aged 6 months to 55 years.
This Phase 2 trial tests SPN-817 in adults whose seizures are still not well controlled despite trying multiple seizure medicines. It targets people with a specific type of brain finding called focal cortical dysplasia and looks at safety/tolerability and seizure outcomes over several weeks.
