Pleural irrigation with a new device

Who can take part

  • You have fluid remaining in the space around your lung (called a pleural effusion) seen on an ultrasound within 24 hours after a chest tube was placed.
  • You cannot receive medication through the chest tube to break up the fluid within that first 24 hours.
