Who can take part
- Age 70 years or older
- Considered frail (based on a standard frailty score) or have health issues that make surgery risky, or you choose not to have surgery
- Life expectancy of at least 6 months
- Rectal cancer confirmed by biopsy and located within 0-16 cm from the anal opening
- Tumor stage cT1-3d, nodes may or may not be involved, no spread to other organs
- You must have had a special MRI of the pelvis and a CT scan of the abdomen and chest as part of staging
