- You are 18 years or older
- You have sepsis shock: suspected or confirmed infection plus antibiotics, and you need medicines to raise blood pressure for at least 1 hour
- You have a new fast upper-chamber heart rhythm (supraventricular arrhythmia) with a heart rate of 110+ for at least 5 minutes
- You can give consent (you, your legal representative, or next of kin if it’s an emergency)
