Behavioral activation for colon cancer patients' mood

This study tests whether a type of talk therapy called behavioral activation can help improve mood and quality of life for people with colon cancer. All patients diagnosed with colon cancer in the Västmanland region are invited to try it, as long as certain health issues don't get in the way.

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with colon cancer in the Västmanland region.
  • You can understand and speak the local language well enough for talk therapy.
  • You are not currently dealing with alcohol or drug problems that would get in the way.
  • You are not at high risk for suicide right now.
  • You do not have severe mental health conditions like psychosis, severe depression, or a history of mania.
  • You have not started an antidepressant in the last month, and you are not already in another psychological treatment.
