  • You are a woman who gave birth within the last 6 weeks
  • You have septic shock, meaning very low blood pressure that doesn't improve with fluids and requires medicine to raise it
  • You do not have a pre-existing heart condition or a heart-related cause of shock
  • You do not need emergency surgery right now
  • You are not on a do-not-resuscitate order
