Who can take part

  • You have a single deep pocket around a tooth that is at least 4 mm deep.
  • You are not a heavy smoker (fewer than 5 cigarettes per day).
  • You have good oral hygiene and can attend follow-up visits.
  • Your gums are not affected by furcation (the area where tooth roots meet).
  • You have low levels of plaque and bleeding (less than 15% of teeth).
