Who can take part

  • You are between 20 and 75 years old.
  • You have dry eye (Schirmer's test less than 10 mm in 5 minutes) or Sjogren's syndrome (diagnosed by standard criteria) or you are a healthy person without chronic disease.
  • If you are in the Sjogren's group, your immune, liver, kidney, and blood tests must be normal.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You do not have eye inflammation or infection, history of alcohol abuse, diabetes, or a major life-threatening condition.
  • You have not had steroid pulse therapy in the last 3 months.
