Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • Your stroke was confirmed by an MRI scan and is caused by a blockage in a large artery in your neck or brain (50-99% narrowed or blocked).
  • You can start the study treatment within 48 hours of your first stroke symptoms.
  • Your stroke symptoms are moderate (NIHSS score 6-16, or 4-5 with certain disabling problems like vision loss, severe language difficulty, or arm/leg weakness).
  • You were able to do your usual activities without help before the stroke (mRS score 0-1).
  • You did not receive clot-busting drugs or a clot-removal procedure for this stroke.
  • You do not have a heart-related cause for your stroke (like atrial fibrillation) or other rare causes (like artery tear).
