This trial compares a procedure called vertebroplasty (injecting bone cement into the broken bone) with a sham (fake) procedure to see how it affects your ability to move and be active. It's for people with recent painful spinal fractures caused by weak bones (osteoporosis).

Who can take part

  • You are 50 years or older and have a broken bone in your spine (between T6 and L5) due to osteoporosis.
  • Your fracture is recent (pain started within the last 3 months) and painful (score of 60 or higher on a 0-100 pain scale).
  • The broken bone shows swelling on MRI, and the fracture is one of types 1-4 (not a severe crushing or pincer type).
  • You have no more than 4 broken vertebrae, and all can be treated in one session.
  • You can understand Danish and do not have any conditions that would make surgery unsafe (like active infection, cancer, or severe memory problems).
