Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have had ITP for at least 3 months.
- Steroids or other standard treatments (like TPO drugs) have not worked or you cannot afford them.
- Your platelet count is below 30 for two tests at least one day apart within the last 2 days.
- You are in generally good health (ECOG score 0-2).
- If you are female and able to have children, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use effective birth control during and for 4 months after the study.
- You cannot have other blood disorders like leukemia, lupus, or certain autoimmune conditions.
- You have not had a blood clot or serious bleeding in the last year.
- You are not taking blood thinners (e.g., aspirin) or receiving emergency ITP treatment in the last 2 weeks.
- You have not had certain immune-suppressing drugs (like rituximab) in the last 3 months or specific other drugs in the last 4 weeks.
- You have not had a splenectomy in the last 6 months.
- You have no active hepatitis B, C, HIV, or syphilis.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
