Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 90 years old
  • You have at least moderate aortic regurgitation (leaky valve) or aortic stenosis (narrowed valve) based on your medical history or prior tests
  • You do not have a sudden heart injury, torn aorta, certain congenital heart defects, or abnormal blood vessel connections
  • You can safely have an MRI: no pacemaker or defibrillator, no old metal clips in your brain, weight under 440 pounds, and no severe claustrophobia
