Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a missing piece of skull bone larger than 1 cm.
  • You are awake and responsive (Glasgow Coma Scale score of 9 or higher).
  • You are not currently having an infection at the surgery site or anywhere in your body.
  • You have not had brain radiation or chemotherapy in the last 6 months, and none planned in the next 12 weeks.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
