Who can take part
- You have recently been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), but not a rare type called acute promyelocytic leukemia.
- You have had one round of induction chemotherapy and are now in complete remission (your blood counts are back to normal and no leukemia cells are seen).
- You are between 18 and 59 years old, or between 60 and 75 if you pass a simple health test called the CGA-10.
- You have a family member who is a half-matched (haploidentical) donor and can give their blood cells for this treatment.
- You must not have serious heart problems (like severe heart failure, heart attack, or unstable chest pain in the last 6 months).
- If you are a woman who can still have children, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use birth control during treatment and for one month after.
