Who can take part

  • You have new weakness in all four limbs or both legs caused by a nerve or muscle problem (confirmed with nerve testing).
  • You were able to walk and take care of yourself before your critical illness.
  • You do not have a pre-existing nerve disorder or a history of intensive-care-related weakness before this illness.
  • You do not have a severe bleeding disorder or a major consciousness disorder.
  • You do not have a medical reason that prevents using electrical stimulation (like a pacemaker or skin condition).
