Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older and can give your consent to participate.
  • You have been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome and a thoracic aortic aneurysm, OR you have a non-syndromic thoracic aortic aneurysm (a bulge in your chest's main artery).
  • You do NOT have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or a smoking habit.
  • You have not taken steroid medications or certain antibiotics (fluoroquinolones) in the last 6 months.
  • You have no history of keloid scars (raised scars) or allergies to anesthetic drugs.
