Who can take part
- Your child must be between 11 and 17 years old.
- They are scheduled for surgery to fix a curved spine (idiopathic scoliosis).
- No infection in the area where the numbing medicine will be injected.
- No bleeding or clotting problems.
- No weakened immune system.
- Their overall health rating should be ASA I, II, or III (not very severe illness).
- They cannot have been taking steroid medicines regularly.
