Who can take part

  • You are between 9 and 12 years old (based on your dental age, not just birthday).
  • You are generally healthy (no serious ongoing health problems).
  • You have a cleft in the gum line (alveolar cleft) that needs a bone graft.
  • You do not have a hole between your mouth and nose (palatal fistula) that came back after repair.
  • You do not have a genetic syndrome that causes cleft palate.
  • You are not getting radiation or chemotherapy for cancer.
